Shaka Taco prides itself in one main staple: freshness. We start with NC produce and proteins, hand-cut them every day, then combine the flavors, spices, and tastes we believe to construct a truly tasty taco.

Whether you visit us at our original location centered in the heart of Surf City—where the patio offers a casual, coastal feel and the beach is directly across the street—or at our second spot, the vibe remains fresh.

In Hampstead, you'll find us conveniently located at the Ironclad Golf & Beer Garden. Here, the Shaka experience pairs perfectly with a round of golf or a cold "foamer" right from the tap. Guests can still hang with their dog or friends, sip a cold one, and enjoy their meal—it’s the same fresh eats and fresh vibes you know!

AS FRESH AS IT GETS

Our menu is comprised of ingredients sourced as locally as possible, including fish so fresh it has potential to swim from your tortilla. Christian and Leutgens designed a simplistic menu holding tacos, taco bowls, wings, and acai bowls.

Each taco protein is paired with 3 toppings, all prepared multiple times daily – this allows for the respective protein to be complemented inside its tortilla home, rather than drowned out by filler or nonsense. Wings are NC jumbo flats and drums, lathered in homemade seasonings and sauces. Bowls are like a supersized taco over coconut or Mexican rice and seasoned black beans – order these gems with an appetite.

And, well, if you’ve never had an acai bowl, let Shaka Taco spoil your tangy and sweet mystery.
